Benefits
Guardrail systems that allow building occupants see through to the view are increasing in popularity. For example, CableRail™ by Feeney offers 1/8" diameter, stainless steel cable assemblies that can be installed on new or existing wood or steel railing frames or on Feeney's own powder coated, aluminum railing frames.
Installations include exterior, interior, residential and commercial settings. With this type of system, the cables are laced horizontally through holes drilled in the intermediate posts of the railing frame and then tensioned at opposite end posts with special fittings that are concealed in the posts.
Benefits of the cable system:
- Uses standard assemblies that are easy to order and install
- Requires no special tools
- Uses 1/8-inch diameter cables made from high-strength, type 316 stainless steel for durability
- Utilizes components that are easily field attached and adjusted
- Offers a sleek, low profile infill for improved aesthetics and open views
- Requires 3-inch cable spacing, which exceeds the 4-inch sphere test requirements
Another view-friendly guardrail infill option offered by CableRail™ by Feeney is ¼" tempered glass panels. These panels fit into special slots on the top and bottom rails of Feeney's aluminum railing frames. Panels can be cut to size to fit each railing condition, and the maximum recommended post spacing is 5-feet on center. Glass railing systems are perfect for exterior, interior, residential or commercial projects.
Benefits of the glass system:
- Frames are easy to install without custom fabrication
- Uses high-strength ¼" tempered glass panels that can be custom tinted
- Allows for unimpaired views and protection from the wind
- Versatile applications
- Frames available in a variety of powder coated colors.
