Controlling Moisture and Avoiding Mortar Infill Behind Brick Veneer

Residential HouseNet™ by MortarNet^® is a product designed to avoid mortar infill behind brick veneer, to reduce moisture and prevent mold and efflorescence. This product:

• Has a patented dovetail shape, angled so that mortar that does drop into the cavity during construction cannot block the entire path; this allows water to drain down to the weep holes
• Is designed to break up mortar on two levels, which assures that moisture can find a path to the weep holes where it can exit the building
• Is made with an open weave mesh material that allows moisture to drain behind the brick veneer and allows air to flow freely in the cavity
• Is easy to install and designed to fill the entire cavity - no other product can do this
• Requires that flashing be installed at least 6-inches above the top of the Residential HouseNet™ product
• Is made from recycled materials and allows builders to qualify for LEED points
• Is fire-resistant and manufactured with an antimicrobial additive to inhibit mold
